Flu? Heal Yourself

https://www.cdc.gov/flu/weekly/index.htm
Perhaps a decade ago I stumbled onto "Beerzoids" experiments with sinus flushing.

Prior to this I suffered classic "sinus" problems, I got the "flu" annually, ended up in bed for days,  suffered all winter with sinus pain, scarfed down decongestants, sweated with fevers, coughed, hacked, etc.

Once I read the original beerzoids blog post I began to gain control over my sinuses.

As time progressed I learned at lot:

I started experimenting with using these techniques to aggressively attack the flu as opposed to simply standing by as its victim.

Bottom line, though, is that I no longer get sick with the "flu" - sure I might get the chills for day, have to blow my nose for a day or so but I no longer get the bronchitis, pneumonia, runny nose, extended fever, etc.   I no longer take aspirin (or any related medication).  No more sinus meds of any kind, no more antibiotics.

None of that.

I no longer get "sick..."

Why?

Not because of flu shots, which I have never taken (see http://just-got-lucky.blogspot.com/2010/11/flu-shots-and-magical-thinking.html) because the are complete bullshit.

No, instead I conducted a decade of experiments on myself that lead me to the following conclusions:

1) Diet and exercise matter, but not in the way you think.  You need to boost your immune system (much of it in the gut) and address deficiencies with diet (including oil of oregano, turmeric, curcumin, cod liver oil, iodine, vitamin C).  Exercise to clear you sinus daily, especially in cold weather. Your sinuses need to be cleared every day.

2) Your sinuses are a significant vector for infection in that controlling your sinuses controls the infection.  At some point the "flu" or a cold invade your sinuses (typically initially).  Infected snot runs down the back of your throat and creates bronchitis, pneumonia, etc.  Flushing kills off the infection and removes reservoirs of infection.  At least for me I can always feel this "invasion" - snot runs down the back of my throat long before I used to get "sick."

3) The combination of antibiotics and/or nasal decongestants create bioreactors in the sinus cavities of anyone using them (dark, warm, mucus covered, human).  In these bioreactors the viruses and bacteria breed and/or evolve to be anti-biotic resistant (to the extend bacteria are involved).  Infected mucus generated by viral infection spreads the viruses to the rest of the body.  Bottom line is you must clear this stuff out, not let it run down into you lungs.

4) Colon Transit Time matters and needs to be low (http://just-got-lucky.blogspot.com/2010/10/whats-your-colon-transit-time.html)

(All of this is found in the links above.)

If you have the flu it's your own fault.

You've been lead astray by modern "big pharma" which helps poorly educated doctors apply "allopathic" (symptom treatment) to something that you can actually fix yourself.
